‘Gran Turismo 7' Le Mans Update Adds Ferrari 499P, Porsche 963, BMW M Hybrid V8, Peugeot 9X8
By
With the Le Mans 24 Hours approaching, "Gran Turismo 7" is rolling out one of its biggest motorsport-focused updates yet. Instead of adding more road cars, Polyphony Digital is turning its attention to endurance racing. The result is a lineup that many fans have been requesting for years.
The update introduces four modern Le Mans Hypercars. Players can now get behind the wheel of the 2023 Ferrari 499P, 2024 Porsche 963, 2025 Peugeot 9X8, and 2025 BMW M Hybrid V8. A Porsche 911 Turbo safety car also joins the game, along with several new racing events.
'Gran Turismo 7' Expands Its Hypercar Grid
According to The Drive, the biggest highlight is the arrival of the new Hypercars. These machines symbolize the current era of endurance racing and are among the most recognizable cars competing in the World Endurance Championship.
Their addition gives players a much stronger Le Mans experience. Together with the Toyota GR010 Hybrid already in the game, Gran Turismo 7 now features several of the leading prototypes battling for overall victory in endurance racing's biggest events.
For many players, this fills a gap that has existed in the series for years.
More Authentic Endurance Racing Experience
One criticism often aimed at "Gran Turismo" is the lack of complete racing grids. While the series has featured cars from major championships, players rarely had enough vehicles from the same class to recreate real-world competition.
Instead, races often relied on performance balancing to place different categories together. While functional, it never felt entirely authentic.
This update changes that. Players can now race several modern Hypercars against one another, creating a closer representation of today's endurance racing scene.
Ferrari 499P Finally Arrives
Among the new additions, the Ferrari 499P may be the most anticipated. Since its debut, the Hypercar has quickly become one of the defining machines of modern endurance racing.
Its success at Le Mans made it a must-have for many fans. The Porsche 963, Peugeot 9X8, and BMW M Hybrid V8 have also been highly requested since their real-world debuts.
New Events and Safety Car Included
The update isn't just about adding new vehicles. Players will also find a collection of new races, many of which focus on the Gr.1 category. The events provide the perfect opportunity to test the new Hypercars in competitive conditions.
A Porsche 911 Turbo safety car joins the roster as well, adding another motorsport-themed vehicle to the game's growing collection.
Building the Full Hypercar Collection Won't Be Cheap
There is one catch. Collecting every Hypercar may require a large amount of in-game credits.
The Toyota GR010 Hybrid already comes with a hefty price tag. If the new cars follow a similar pattern, players may need to spend millions of credits to complete the entire lineup.
Still, most endurance racing fans will likely see the investment as worthwhile.
Meanwhile, Porsche and Pixar collaborated to bring "Toy Story 5" inspired 911 models.
