What SmartThings Energy Brings

Reports stated SmartThings Energy  transcends being a mere energy monitor; it emerges as a hero during power interruptions. It provides timely notifications regarding severe weather conditions such as typhoons or heavy snow directly to your Samsung TV or mobile through SmartThings.

Moreover, one can activate an AI Energy Mode before or during these power outages, effectively extending the backup energy life of Tesla Powerwall. At Tesla, there was an infectious sense of excitement.

Drew Baglino from Tesla emphasized how this collaboration enabled their products to intelligently sync with other devices in customers' homes. Simple yet powerful: consumers could regulate and monitor their home's energy consumption across devices and maximize their Powerwall's energy even when off the grid.

In their recent announcement, Tesla introduced FleetAPI, which allows developers to interact not just with their vehicles but also with Powerwall, Solar, and Wall Connector. Samsung, a prominent player in consumer smart home technology, has eagerly embraced this opportunity as an early developer.

The much-anticipated unveiling took place at CES 2024, with Samsung's booth showcasing SmartThings Energy seamlessly integrated with Tesla Powerwall. Although the service was still in development at that time, its launch was slated for the second quarter of 2024. It's worth noting that some adjustments to the features might have been made prior to the grand launch.
