Chinese automaker OMODA has just unveiled a brand new crossover, the C3, at the Shanghai International Auto Show. The vehicle shows a distinct "cyber-mecha" angular design, which shows off OMODA's plan to appeal to younger buyers.

The company says it's "building on the legacy of 'Art in Motion,' OMODA's new design languages. "This is not merely a design study but a radical declaration for future mobility, where art collides with cyber-mecha and dynamic flow merges with boldness," wrote the company in its press release.

The company boasts a cabin that feels like a futuristic design center, using aviation and performance design as inspiration. You'll see figher jet-style instrument panels, mechanical switchgear, and what OMODA calls "an immersive cockpit experience designed for the modern driver."

The OMODA C3 will launch globally in October of this year, and is officially confirmed for the South African market in 2026. The auto will be available in both gas and NEV (new energy vehicle) versions, which could help those wary of EVs grab one of these for themselves.

OMODA is a Chinese automotive brand headquartered in Wuhu, Anhui Province, China. Established in 2022 as a division of Chery Automobile, OMODA focuses on producing vehicles for international markets (excluding China). The brand aims to cater to a younger, style-conscious demographic by offering vehicles with futuristic designs and advanced technologies. OMODA has also expanded into markets across Central and South America, Southeast Asia, and Europe.
