At CES 2024, Hyundai was all set and unveiled an extensive vision transcending conventional mobility at Mandalay Bay Convention Center. Under the theme 'Ease every way,' they highlighted hydrogen energy ecosystems, advanced software, and AI to change human-centric living improvements.

The Future: Hydrogen Energy and Software

This recent event showed their dedication to a hydrogen value chain solution and 'Software-defined Everything' Hyundai's exhibition spanned hydrogen value chains, waste-to-energy solutions, SDV technologies, and future mobility exhibits at the Las Vegas Convention Center from January 9-12.

Hyundai Motor's objective, 'Progress for Humanity,' matches with the 'Ease every way' concept to create a free, safe, and fair world. Furthermore, this ethos stresses their global values and breakthrough hydrogen generating, storage, transportation, and use solution.

Reports stated that Hyundai Motor Group's pledge toward carbon neutrality by 2050 drives their RE100 roadmap, targeting 100 percent renewable energy utilization in overseas factories by 2045 and across all Group entities by 2050.

These grand goals require hydrogen energy. Hyundai invests in hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and consumption to lead the society. Collaboratively, Hyundai Motor Group entities, including Hyundai Rotem, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Hyundai Engineering, Hyundai Glovis, and Hyundai Steel, contribute to this paradigm shift.

Moreover, Hyundai's long-term ambition includes a variety of hydrogen-based transportation options and the delivery of Nexo hydrogen car successors next year.

According to a report in T3, the yearly CES trade show isn't just about unveiling upcoming consumer electronics; it's evolved into a prime platform for car manufacturers to showcase their latest technologies. Hyundai, fully embracing the Las Vegas convention scene, will hold its own press conference this year.

In addition, the automaker revealed ambitions to use software and AI to enhance their vehicles in the future. In a press release towards the end of the previous year, Hyundai Motor expressed its intention to elaborate on the company's extensive software strategy and forthcoming path during their upcoming presentation.

A completely optimized, user-centric environment that seamlessly links devices, services, and solutions is their goal. Hyundai plans to mass-produce megawatt-scale PEM electrolyzers for green hydrogen production, aiming to create a resource-circulating system utilizing waste to ensure high purity and current density of hydrogen. This technology relies solely on water as its raw material.

Software-defined everything: SDx Strategy

As shared in THE CHONSUNILBO Hyundai's roadmap for the future, called SDx (Software-defined everything), puts software at the forefront of shaping mobility ahead. Starting with Software-defined Vehicles (SDV), they're moving toward software-focused solutions for adaptability and scalability.

This allows AI to be used in data collection, learning, assessment, and proactive problem-solving. Hyundai President and CEO Jay Chang wants a hydrogen society with easy access to pure hydrogen.

Hyundai is doubling its commitment to fuel cell systems for its top electric vehicles and moving forward with producing the N Vision 74 concept. Additionally, the company will discuss software and AI advancements, aiming to create a user-focused ecosystem connecting devices, services, and solutions in its upcoming strategy.

Hyundai Motors

As shared on its website, Hyundai envisions a future of clean and dynamic vehicle power, offering a range of alternative-fuel options: hybrid, plug-in hybrid, all-electric, and fuel cell. These models leverage their battery technology supported by a robust 10-year/100,000-mile warranty.
