Tesla Model S/X Actually Smart Summon Update: When Can Legacy Owners Expect Highly Anticipated Feature?
By
Tesla is preparing to roll out the Actually Smart Summon software and apply it to certain models.
The carmaker's Autopilot director has given legacy Model S and Model X owners an update on when to expect the feature, Teslarati reported Monday. The outlet noted that the software can remotely "summon" vehicles from a parking spot.
According to the outlet, the feature started being implemented with the HW3 vehicles, despite owners' concerns about the tech being only available with the Hardware 4 vehicles. Amid the update's buzz, owners of the Model S and X were curious if the software would soon come to their cars.
The matter raised the attention of Ashok Ekkuswamy, Tesla's Autopilot director, who uploaded a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). The director claimed that the Actually Smart Summon feature would be implemented in the Model S and X in the fourth quarter, which will officially commence on Tuesday.
