The era of V8-powered Durangos is drawing to a close, with production set to end before the year concludes on December 31. Dodge plans to commemorate their legacy of performance with a range of special Last Call Editions, including tributes to the AlcHEMI, R/T, and SRT Hellcat models.

Last Call Edition: Dodge Durangos

With the arrival of the last batch of 2024 Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI vehicles at American dealerships, the production of the 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine has come to an end. At $89,795 (plus a $1,595 destination fee), this SUV is a limited edition and somewhat unusual. According to Motor1.com, Dodge debuted this limited-edition model earlier in the year, with a 1,000 unit production ceiling.

Divided equally among four non-color options-black, two shades of gray, and white-the distinctive Durango features eye-catching yellow Brembo brakes, special graphics with yellow highlights, black exhaust tips, black badges, and stylish 20-inch Satin Black wheels. Inside, the cabin boasts luxurious touches like yellow accents and carbon-fiber trim, adding a touch of sophistication to the performance-driven design.

As of May 1, Dodge's Horsepower Locator database reveals 424 AlcHemi SUVs available nationwide, each starting at $91,390 (inclusive of the $1,595 destination charge). This inventory will be refreshed weekly by the automaker. Powering the AlcHemi is a robust 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 engine generating 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission distributing power to all wheels.

Motor1.com also reported the AlcHemi signifies the farewell of the high-powered 475-hp Durango SRT 392 model, concluding production in July as the 2024 model year draws to a close. However, the Last Call editions will extend into 2025.

Dodge plans to unveil more information later this year regarding the Durango R/T and SRT Hellcat Last Call trims, with production slated to wrap up by December 31, 2024, marking the end of the V-8 Hemi era for the Durango line.

Dodge Relaunches Horsepower Locator

According to Cars.com, while a horsepower locator may not be essential for everyday use in your home, it becomes invaluable when searching for a new vehicle, especially a limited-edition Dodge featuring one of the final Hemi V-8 engines. Dodge's Horsepower Locator tool on DodgeGarage.com serves as the bridge connecting prospective buyers with dealers holding inventory of the Last Call special-edition vehicles.

Currently, this includes the 2024 Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHemi, the initial installment of several exclusive Durango models slated for release throughout 2024. Following this, Last Call versions of the 5.7-liter Durango R/T and the supercharged 6.2-liter Durango SRT Hellcat will make their debut as 2025 models before production of the Hemi V-8 engine ceases in December.

As reported by CarScoops, Dodge has reintroduced the Horsepower Locator tool, originally utilized for bidding farewell to the Charger and Challenger models, to aid customers in locating the special editions. By accessing the website and entering their zip code, users can filter their search based on colors such as Diamond Black, Vapor Gray, Destroyer Gray, or White Knuckle, along with specifying the distance criteria.

In the Metro Detroit area, the majority of dealerships have at least one order in stock, with some holding multiple units. Dodge has confirmed that the list of available vehicles will undergo weekly updates to reflect the changes in dealer allocations.
