Orders for Ford Pro's newest commercial electric vehicle, the E-Transit are now being accepted. The E-Transit continues to be the best-selling electric van in the US with the release of this improved model, which is now available for purchase.

Ford Pro Now Accepting Orders for E-Transit

In order to satisfy the needs of the charging market, Ford plans to produce the revised E-Transit this year. One of the first electric business cars will get better range, quicker charging, and onboard power in its second version. 2022 saw its initial introduction.

The 2024 E-Transit, according to Electrek, has a bigger 89 kWh battery than its predecessor's 67 kWh, providing an estimated range of up to 159 miles. This expanded range enables new applications such as refrigerated delivery, as highlighted by Ford.

Additionally, the enhanced E-Transit boasts dual onboard chargers, which facilitate a 22% faster charging time using Ford Pro's 80A Series 2 charger and proprietary charging software. Charging at Level 2 can bring the vehicle from zero to fully charged in just over six hours, making it well-suited for overnight charging.

Furthermore, the E-Transit sees enhancements in its DC charging capabilities, boasting a capacity of 176 kW, an increase from the previous 115 kW. As elucidated by Jameson Dow, when connected to a suitably quick charger, this means a 2024 E-Transit (low roof model) can get 67 miles of range in 15 minutes, an improvement of 49% over the previous model.

All new E-Transits are outfitted with Ford's latest NACS adapter alongside the existing CCS port, guaranteeing seamless compatibility with diverse charging infrastructures.

With its expanded battery capacity of 89 kWh, the E-Transit is now positioned to accommodate an even broader array of commercial applications, including those demanding refrigerated delivery services. The E-Transit incorporates cutting-edge technology, including smart features like E-Telematics, designed to streamline vehicle management for fleet operators through remote commands and control systems.

Additionally, safety enhancements such as the Standard Lane-Keeping System, Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, and high-resolution cameras are integrated to bolster driver confidence and overall safety on the road.

Priced starting at $51,095, before accounting for any local, state, or federal electric vehicle incentives, the E-Transit is eligible for the federal $7,500 Commercial Clean Vehicle Tax Credit.

Furthermore, FleetOwner has highlighted the crucial role of Ford Pro's updated charging solutions in achieving expedited charge times. These solutions encompass the Series 2 80A charger and the Series 2 48A charger.

Specifically tailored for the enhanced-range E-Transit battery, the Series 2 80A charger optimizes battery power output for rapid charging. Meanwhile, the Series 2 48A charger boasts replaceable cables, a new LCD screen, and cellular connectivity, ensuring versatility and ease of use for fleet operators.
