As reported by WTOL11, the debut of the new model year comes approximately three months after a strike halted production at the Toledo Assembly complex for six weeks in 2023. Nearly 6,000 Jeep workers in Toledo were among the United Auto Workers members across the nation who engaged in strikes against Stellantis, Ford, and General Motors.

In terms of production, Gladiator assembly takes place at the South plant section of the Toledo Assembly Complex, while the North plant is responsible for manufacturing Jeep Wranglers.

Previously, Toledo's Jeep plant served as the production site for the Cherokee until the final Toledo-assembled model of that vehicle ceased production in 2017. Subsequently, Cherokee manufacturing operations were relocated to Belvidere, Illinois. Two years later, Toledo's Jeep plant transitioned to producing Gladiators.
