Bmmpr, a San Francisco-based tech firm specializing in intelligent hardware, unveils their visionary creation, the Lightning-a cognizant car embodying the future-at CES 2024 in Las Vegas from January 9 to 12. At Bmmprs booth #7029 in LVCC's West Hall, a perfectly restored 1967 Mustang Fastback displays its cutting-edge technology.

Lightning's premiere at CES 2024 promises a glimpse into automotive technology's future and Bmmpr's pioneering efforts.

Restored 1967 Mustang Fastback Becomes the Future

The Crimson-hued vehicle, adorned with Pure White racing stripes, responds to its driver based on proximity, exhibiting a sentient nature. Lightning awakens upon the driver's approach and enters a dormant state as they depart. Even in its dormant state, Lightning remains vigilant, continuously monitoring for any alterations, prepared to reawaken upon the driver's return.

BMMPR introduces their automotive product, Bmmpr × Cars, a user-friendly electronic device seamlessly transforming any vehicle into a smartCar. This device conveniently plugs into a vehicle's OBD-II port beneath the dashboard.

Bmmpr × Cars actively detects vibrations, shifts in tilt, and pressure variances, detecting potential thefts like catalytic converters and wheel tampering, or break-ins via shattered windows. Integrated sensors swiftly capture these signals, triggering immediate alerts through the Bmmpr: Next mobile app, keeping users informed in real-time. Lightning will represent Bmmpr's automotive innovation at CES 2024.

PRNWires shared these latest updates from Bmmpr.

Bmmpr's Co-Founder and CEO, Marko Mandaric, envisioned showcasing the remarkable potential of their technology within a classic Mustang, setting his sights on the grand stage of CES 2024. However, resurrecting Lightning and allowing it to communicate with its driver was difficult, complicated, and time-sensitive.

Mandaric lets spectators follow Lightning's intriguing renovation. Mandaric acknowledges the arduous yet triumphant endeavor of transforming the classic Mustang into a technologically advanced vehicle integrated with Bmmpr's cutting-edge features within a mere four months.

Despite the numerous hurdles encountered along the way, Mandaric emphasizes their unwavering commitment to progress, resolutely steering towards the ultimate goal-CES 2024.

This awe-inspiring metamorphosis of Lightning was made possible through the generous support of several sponsors: Peterson Restorations, Mustangs to Fear, EPAS Performance, and Ididit. Their support enabled Lightning's repair and Bmmpr technology's faultless integration into the 1967 Mustang Fastback, which will debut at CES 2024.

CES 2024

Every year, CES is the biggest tech expo, where firms unveil their latest products and most ambitious projects.

Commencing on January 9th and culminating on January 12th, the event heralds an influx of groundbreaking announcements. Leading up to the show, companies have steadily released teasers and announcements, setting the stage for groundbreaking revelations as the conference unfolds.

According to reports, CES will see notable absences due to the United Auto Workers strike causing Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis to cancel their plans. Despite this, expect auto-related reveals: Honda introduces a "global EV series," in-car tech, and AI/machine learning.

Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, and BMW will reveal, while Intel and Amazon tease future vehicle items, strengthening their supplier roles. Although fewer automotive updates are expected, CES will still cater to gearheads and mobility enthusiasts, offering surprises amidst the absence of major players.
