Turn Signal and High Beam Malfunction Cause Recall Of More Than 140,000 Chrysler and Ram Vehicles

A recall has been initiated for more than 140,000 Chrysler and Ram vehicles due to a malfunction involving their turn signals and high beams. This recall affects many makes and models including some 2023 Ram trucks, like the 1500 Classic, Ram 3500 Classic, and 3500 Cab Chassis. It also affects the 2023-2024 Ram 2500, 4500/5500 Cab Chassis, and Ram 3500 trucks.

The NHTSA issued this warning due to a steering column control module issue. Reports say using turn signals might turn on high beams, or using high beams might trigger the turn signals.

Owners of Chrysler and Ram cars affected by this recall should fix it immediately to ensure safety. This recall is the initial step in correcting high beams and turn signals. To make cars safer and more helpful on the road. According News 12 Connecticut report, dealers will examine and perform the required replacements at no cost.

Cars.com reported that there are exactly 142,100 - pulls pickup trucks included in the latest recall.

The problem centers around the steering column control module, potentially leading to the activation of high beams when using the turn signal or triggering the turn signal when high beams are in use.

Furthermore, the self-canceling feature of the turn signal may not operate correctly. Both of these problems can make it harder for other drivers to see or get directions, which increases the chance of an accident. This situation calls for a recall, affecting Chrysler and Ram cars.
