Nissan to Launch 30 New Models by 2027, Boost Global Sales Volumes

Nissan is set on an ambitious expansion strategy. It plans to introduce 30 new vehicles by the year 2027. Nissan Motor revealed its intentions on Monday to launch 30 fresh models within the following three years. This initiative aims to elevate global sales by 1 million vehicles. All as they are implementing cost-saving measures to enhance profitability.

Nissan 30 New Models for Profitability

The company unveiled its comprehensive business plan named "The Arc," emphasizing a strategic focus on a wide-ranging product lineup, increased electrification, innovative engineering and manufacturing processes, adoption of cutting-edge technologies, and strategic partnerships to drive growth and boost profitability.

As shared on CarScoops, upon completing the lineup refresh, Nissan anticipates that 60% of its global internal combustion engine (ICE) models will be rejuvenated, contributing to the company's target of increasing annual sales by 1 million units. Additionally, Nissan is focused on driving down the costs of next-generation electric vehicles by 30%, aiming to achieve cost parity between electric vehicles (EVs) and ICE vehicles by the year 2030.

Nissan's Future Offerings

In an exclusive teaser video release, a fleet of new models gracefully cruises in formation, offering a glimpse into Nissan's future offerings. While the video carries an air of mystery with its dimly lit scenes, distinct LED lighting signatures and silhouettes provide clues about the showcased models.

Among them are an electric crossover set to succeed the iconic Leaf, the next-generation Micra based on R5 architecture, a potentially fully electric Juke model, and the recently introduced Kicks, hinting at Nissan's innovative and diverse product lineup to come.

In response to intense competition, Nissan and its local competitor Honda Motor recently disclosed their contemplation of a strategic partnership to cooperate on essential components for electric vehicles (EVs) and explore collaboration opportunities in other sectors.

Nissan is gearing up for significant developments in the U.S. and Canada, where the company plans to introduce seven new models and overhaul 78% of its passenger vehicle lineup under the Nissan brand. Additionally, Nissan will debut e-power and plug-in hybrid models in these markets.

Nissan intends to introduce eight new energy cars in China, four of which will be Nissan brand models. It intends to introduce six new models while in Europe. Nissan wants to introduce a completely new three-row electrified SUV by the end of the year, ending in March 2029. This SUV has 50% faster quick charging times and 50% higher energy densities than the Ariya model.

While preserving its long-standing alliance with Renault and Mitsubishi Motors in Europe and other regions of the world, including Latin America and India, Nissan is also investigating potential joint ventures in the United States and Japan.

Recent reports indicate that Nissan is currently engaged in advanced discussions regarding an investment in EV manufacturer Fisker, with the intention of leveraging its truck platform. This strategic move aligns with Nissan's broader objective of enhancing annual sales and elevating its operating profit margin. The company views these initiatives as essential groundwork for the subsequent phases of its plan, which focus on facilitating a transition to electric vehicles (EVs) and achieving sustained, profitable growth in the long term.
