The EXP 100 GT concept by Bentley made its debut in the 2019 summer. The concept amazed car enthusiast globally. It provided a preview of what luxury cars would seem in 2035. The EXP 100 GT's innovative technologies and exquisite design perfectly captured Bentley's vision to redefine luxury in automobiles.

Looking Ahead: Bentley EXP 100 GT to Batur

With its remarkable features, the EXP 100 GT boasted an elaborate light presentation adorning its front grille, signaling Bentley's visionary approach to incorporating light as a central element in upcoming models. This expansive concept, stretching 5.8 meters and embellished with unconventional materials such as 5,000-year-old Riverwood, mesmerized enthusiasts with its opulent design and forward-thinking innovations.

Autoevolution also highlighted a range of equally groundbreaking features within the automotive realm. Notably, the vehicle showcased a mesmerizing light spectacle on its front grille, a pioneering feature at the time that emphasized Bentley's commitment to integrating light as a fundamental material in its future vehicles, on par with its treatment of metal, wood, and leather.

The cutting-edge technology previewed in the EXP 100 GT five years ago has now come to fruition in the form of the Batur, a car whose sound system alone commands the price of an entry-level American muscle car.

As reported by DaxStreet, five years after the debut of the EXP 100 GT, Bentley's forward-looking vision came to life with the introduction of the Batur, an exceptional luxury vehicle meticulously crafted by the Mulliner division. While sharing mechanical similarities with the Continental, the Batur distinguished itself through unmatched luxury features, such as a Naim sound system valued at $30,000 and an innovative light display harnessing Advanced Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology.

This inventive attribute, which displays dynamic greetings when the door is opened, demonstrated Bentley's dedication to pushing the limits of automotive design. The DLP technology, employing small mirrors and advanced optical systems, converted light into detailed animations, providing customers with a customized and immersive experience.

Autoevolution also featured Bentley's Batur, essentially an enhanced version of the Continental, elevated to new heights of luxury by the experts at the Mulliner division. This model stands as one of the most exclusive cars of our era, with only 18 units slated for production.

While Bentley has not disclosed any additional charges for its special light display, it does emphasize a pioneering feat achieved by the Batur: the utilization of Advanced Digital Light Processing (DLP) to showcase personalized welcome messages.

DLP technology is commonly found in high-end headlights and head-up displays, but the application witnessed in the Batur is unprecedented. Bentley's innovative approach, referred to as the "light sculpture," integrates three-color light sources.

It has an array of lenses, two prisms, and the Digital Micromirror Device (DMDTM), which measures no larger than eight millimeters. Remarkably, the entire hardware responsible for this mesmerizing light show occupies a space just slightly larger than a couple of AA batteries.

Bentley will not only deliver the vehicles with the projected image concept but also enable customers to participate in crafting the animations and even synchronize them with the colors of the customized cars.
