Audi boasts an extensive array of SUVs, with the Q2 leading the pack by delivering the same style as its larger counterparts within a more compact crossover package. The Q2 competes within the same category as the BMW X2 and Mercedes GLA, but with its initial release dating back to 2017, the Audi is starting to show its age when compared to its more recently introduced competitors.

Nonetheless, this aging aspect has its advantages, as the interior presents an abundance of traditional physical buttons and commendable overall ergonomics.

Audi Q2: Specs, Features, Price

This year the Audi Q2 range offers three distinct models, each accompanied by its respective price tag. The base 2024 Audi Q2 35 TFSI costs $49,400, while the 2024 Audi Q2 40 TFSI quattro S line, which offers more performance, costs $56,800. The 2024 Audi SQ2 TFSI quattro is priced at $70,800 and offers elite power and capabilities. It's important to note that these prices do not include on-road costs.

According to Auto Express, the Audi Q2's interior is roomy. It offers sufficient space for both travelers and goods. Consequently, a varied and enjoyable driving experience is guaranteed. The car has a remarkable safety kit that includes cutting-edge safety technologies that put the occupants' safety first. Furthermore, the Q2's superb build quality highlights Audi's commitment to producing a dependable and exquisitely designed car.

Auto Express also highlighted the Cons about Audi Q2. As the years have passed, the vehicle is starting to show signs of aging, evident in certain aspects such as a firm ride when equipped with larger wheels. Additionally, some of its best features are only available as optional extras, highlighting a need for additional investment to access the full range of desirable attributes.

As per CarExpert, the Q2's interior features certain charming elements, such as the TT-style circular air vents, which contribute to infusing the cabin with a sporty ambiance. The optional colored ambient lighting also adds to the appeal, albeit requiring an additional investment.

The Virtual Cockpit setup proves to be highly practical for accessing quick details; however, the outdated map graphics detract from its overall allure. Despite these nuances, the interior experience sets itself apart from newer models within the brand's lineup, which can be viewed as a unique characteristic.

The main outdated component is the media screen, which lacks touchscreen functionality. Instead, a rotary dial controller is utilized to navigate through functions such as sat nav commands, radio controls, settings, and smartphone mirroring.

Several controls are provided to manage aspects of the driving experience, including buttons for the start-stop system, auto parking, and parking sensors (some of which are inactive unless specific option packages are selected). Additionally, a screen-off button is available. Moreover, all climate control functions retain physical buttons and dials, ensuring ease of use while driving.

The material finishes exhibit quality, featuring soft padded sections on the elbow pads and across the dashboard top, although some hard plastics are still present.

Introduces Innovative Infotainment and Virtual Cockpit Enhancements

In mid-2024, the Audi Q2 models are set to undergo a significant upgrade, embracing a more modern, larger, and digitalized approach. The compact SUV's infotainment system will undergo a comprehensive technology update, with every new Audi Q2 now featuring the Audi virtual cockpit and an 8.8-inch touchscreen as the central control unit for the MMI.

Moreover, the previous rotary/push button will be substituted by a convenient storage compartment. Although the Audi Q2 range was originally launched in early 2017 and received updates in 2021 and at the start of 2024, signs of its aging model are evident, yet it remains a steadfast contender until an electric compact replacement emerges.

Control: 8.8-Inch Touchscreen and Voice Command Functions

As per Autoevolution, Audi Q2 has already been updated for 2024 in Europe. Audi shared that every iteration of the Q2 now comes equipped with a standard 8.8-inch touchscreen. The infotainment system is described as exceptionally responsive and features a resolution of 1,270x720.

The vehicle's operation can also be managed through natural speech, while the previous rotary dial on the center console has been eliminated and substituted with a small storage compartment - or to put it simply, a hole.

Audi Virtual Cockpit

According to Audi, with immediate effect, every Audi Q2* variant is equipped with the Audi virtual cockpit as standard. Unlike conventional dial instruments, this fully digital cockpit boasts a vibrant full HD screen (1,920 x 720 pixels) and offers extensive customization possibilities. These options encompass traditional speed, RPM values, as well as navigation or media details.

Drivers can easily switch between various views using the view button on the multifunction steering wheel. The chosen equipment level determines the availability of several designs, such as the Sport design featuring red accents or the Dynamic design with contrasting scales.
