The Mustang, an iconic nameplate in the realm of high-performance vehicles, has left an indelible mark on the muscle car landscape. Since its debut in 1964, Ford has consistently maintained its position as an industry frontrunner, a reputation that transcends every market sector they venture into.

2024 Mustang Unleashed

The brand-new 2024 Mustang, now in its seventh generation, upholds the unparalleled legacy of Ford's flagship sports car, introducing some of the most advanced and cutting-edge features ever witnessed in a Mustang.

Three decades ago, the 1994 Ford Mustang earned the prestigious title of MotorTrend Car of the Year. Representing a significant overhaul of the legendary Fox Body Mustang that came before it, the 1994 model boasted innovative retro-modern aesthetics, an elegantly redesigned interior, and powertrains that, for the most part, remained unchanged.

When assessing the 2024 Ford Mustang as a contender for the 2024 Car of the Year, as stated by MotorTrend it couldn't help but draw parallels.

From the entirety of its exterior design to the most intricate interior elements, the 2024 Ford Mustang sets new standards for the contemporary muscle car era, fashioning itself as an epitome of modernity. This is according to TopSpeed.

While staying true to its signature high-performance characteristics, the Mustang also ensures an equilibrium of comfort and safety akin to industry-leading sedans currently available in the market.

Mustang Options for Everyone

A prevalent trend, not limited to muscle cars but extending across the entire automotive industry, is the proliferation of diverse trim options. The 2024 Mustang embodies this trend, presenting an impressive array of nine distinct trim choices, each tailored to accentuate specific aspects of the vehicle to cater to a wide spectrum of preferences. TopSpeed provided details about these options.

Among these options, the EcoBoost Fastback emerges as the most economical, commencing at a modest $30,920, with all four EcoBoost variants offering a budget-friendly alternative, topping out at $41,945. While these EcoBoost iterations may not match the power of their pricier counterparts, the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine ensures an enjoyable driving experience at a lower cost.

It is accompanied by enhanced fuel efficiency. Additionally, the EcoBoost, GT, and Dark Horse models are all available in both fastback and convertible body styles. In terms of performance and fuel economy, the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine stands out, delivering superior highway mileage with an impressive 32 MPG compared to the GT's 24 MPG, as evidenced by Car and Driver's evaluations.

As for the Dark Horse variant, it retains the formidable Coyote 5.0-liter V-8 powerplant but undergoes meticulous tuning for optimal performance. With the base model priced at $30,920 and the pinnacle of the lineup, the Dark Horse Premium, commencing at $63,265, Ford offers an extensive price range to accommodate various budgets and preferences.

The GT trims, featuring the formidable 5.0-liter 4th-gen Coyote V-8 engine, epitomize the Mustang's spirit, boasting an impressive 486 horsepower. Nevertheless, Ford didn't stop there; the Dark Horse trim raises the bar further, enhancing power output to a remarkable 500 horsepower.

This is made possible through the inclusion of standard features like an active exhaust system, forged crankshaft, and precise spark timing adjustments. While the GT captures the essence of the Mustang, the Dark Horse trim elevates the experience to unprecedented heights.
