Jaguar F-Type Reaches End of Road

Jaguar halts the production of the legendary F-TYPE sports car, concluding an era that started in 2014.The final F-TYPE model will be kept in the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust collection at Gaydon. Enthusiasts can still acquire the F-TYPE until the early months of the next year.

Autocar highlighted Jaguar F-Type's history by recalling its inception. Surpassing the E-Type production numbers, a remarkable 87,731 F-Type sports cars were meticulously crafted, with the final model paying homage to its lineage.

Exactly half a century after the last E-Type rolled off the line, the concluding F-Type emerges in a nostalgic Giola Green convertible guise, featuring a tan leather interior and a sleek black roof. With the cessation of F-Type, XE, and XF manufacturing at Castle Bromwich, Jaguar temporarily transitions into an SUV-exclusive marque as it redefines its product portfolio.

While F-Pace assembly continues in Solihull, the production of E-Pace and I-Pace models progresses in Graz, Austria, sustaining the brand's electrified offerings until the forthcoming year.

Farewell to F-Type, V8 Engine

According to Newsbytes, Jaguar is saying goodbye to its 5.0-liter V8 engine, which has powered many of its classic automobiles, with the release of the final F-TYPE model. As Jaguar embraces electric mobility, this moment signals a significant transition away from the V8 engine era.

Reported by Drive, the final vehicle to gracefully exit Jaguar's Castle Bromwich production line before undergoing retooling was a captivating 5.0-liter V8 Convertible adorned in a striking Giola Green hue, complemented by a sleek black roof and luxurious Tan Windsor leather interior.

Drawing a parallel to history, this configuration mirrors the iconic 5.3-liter V12 final E-Type Series III Convertible from 1974, famously known as HDU 555N.

Introduced as a convertible in the UK back in 2013, this car marked Jaguar's return to the realm of two-seat sports cars after nearly four decades. Following its convertible launch, the coupe variant made its impressive debut a year later, hitting the Australian market for sale in June 2014.

In a swan song tribute to this milestone and the iconic F-type, the brand plans to unveil two distinctive special editions.

Dubbed 75 and R 75. Available in both coupe and convertible variants, the R 75 edition stands out as the exclusive choice for enthusiasts seeking the apex of performance, boasting a potent supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine churning out an impressive 575 horsepower.

The interior of the 2024 F-type, a design philosophy centered around the driver takes precedence, showcasing a harmonious blend of textures such as intricate stitching, faux-suede embellishments, and elegant chrome detailing.

Offering a range of customization options, from premium headliners to center-console finishes and sleek gloss-black elements, the cockpit exudes sophistication. While the standard six-way power sport seats deliver comfort and support, enthusiasts can elevate their experience with the optional 12-way power performance seats, available in a selection of luxurious leather or suede upholstery combinations.
