Inking a collaborative deal, Hyundai Motor and its affiliate Kia have partnered with the tech powerhouse Baidu to pioneer innovations in connected car technology. Recently sealed in Beijing, this memorandum of understanding signifies a concerted effort between the South Korean automotive leaders and Baidu, spanning various domains such as connectivity and autonomous driving systems.

Reuters reported that Hyundai Motor and Kia Corp announced on Sunday their collaboration with Baidu Inc to advance technologies for connected cars. Amidst the burgeoning demand for connected car technology in China, the agreement was solidified.

As per Yonhap News English, Hyundai and Kia are set to leverage Baidu's smart cloud computing technology to comply with Beijing's evolving data regulations. They plan to explore novel business models integrating artificial intelligence technologies in partnership with their Chinese counterpart.

Hyundai and Kia reaffirmed in a press statement their dedication to working strategically with Baidu to create a connected car system in the Chinese market. Hyundai and Kia recently made a statement emphasizing that they are collaborating with their Chinese partners to create innovative business models driven by AI technology.

They highlighted the joint efforts they are doing with Baidu to support the development of connected car systems in the Chinese market. As per Free Press Journal, Hyundai predicted a notable increase in China's yearly sales of connected automobiles, citing Chinese data to estimate a stunning jump to 17 million units this year from the 7.2 million units registered in 2019.

Additionally, Hyundai and Kia have been working with Baidu since 2014, concentrating on collaborative ventures that include the advancement of state-of-the-art voice recognition technology. Their commitment to furthering the integration of smart technologies into their cars is seen in their long-standing relationship.

According to Reuters, there appears to be a new deal between Baidu and Tesla. By means of this agreement, Tesla will obtain access to Baidu's mapping license, enabling the carmaker to compile data regarding public roadways in China. The two tech titans have a strategic cooperation, as evidenced by this noteworthy development, according to people with knowledge of the situation.

According to the sources, the deal is a significant turning point for Tesla's Full Self Driving (FSD) driver assistance technology as it works through Chinese regulatory requirements. Through this agreement, Tesla has the approval it needs to launch its FSD system in China. Furthermore, as per the deal, Baidu will provide Tesla with its lane-level navigation system, thereby augmenting the capabilities of Tesla's automobiles in China.
