Global Conversions has transformed the GMC Hummer EV into a right-hand-drive configuration, paving the way for conversions globally. This marks the debut of the world's initial conversion of a Hummer EV SUV into right-hand drive.

Hummer EV SUV First to Have Right-Hand Drive Conversion

Global Conversions has introduced the world's first Right-Hand Drive conversion of the Hummer EV SUV. This groundbreaking transformation marks the debut of the First RHD Hummer EV Conversion, opening up new possibilities for conversions worldwide.

CarBuzz reports that the company boasts a rich 78-year history in vehicle conversions and sets a goal to finish each build within a 27-day timeframe. The GMC Hummer EV siblings are praised for their innovative features like the Watts to Freedom mode and engaging CrabWalk modes.

While these features have delighted US consumers for over a year, the left-hand drive configuration of the American-made vehicles has left other parts of the world without access. Global Conversions has made history by becoming the first company to complete the official conversion of a Hummer EV SUV to a right-hand drive configuration.

This pioneering achievement has effectively expanded the market and paved the way for numerous future conversions. Drawing from 78 years of combined experience in vehicle conversions, Global Conversions lays the foundation for its groundbreaking work.

While details regarding the conversion process remain somewhat guarded, the company has disclosed its ambition to accomplish the entire build within a swift 27-day timeframe. With the handover of keys to its inaugural client this week, the company embarks on a journey into 77 right-hand drive (RHD) countries, charting a new course for itself.

While the vehicle's substantial size and price initially led GMC to opt for exclusively left-hand drive (LHD) production, Global Conversions sees an opportunity to tap into this untapped market. As per a report from Gaadiwaadi.com, the right-hand drive (RHD) version of the Hummer EV is now accessible in more than 77 countries, spanning regions such as India, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore.

Additional Hummer vehicles are currently undergoing preparations for conversion, with the 2024 pickup model among those slated for modification.

2024 GMC Hummer EV Pickup

As per Car and Driver, later this year, GMC plans to unveil a budget-friendly model of the Hummer pickup, expected to be priced over $85,000. Details regarding this model are eagerly awaited, while the EV3X variant boasts extended range estimates compared to its predecessor, courtesy of an innovative 24-module battery pack.

The Hummer EV offers two battery options. The standard 20-module pack delivers an EPA-estimated range of 311 miles for the EV2X and 314 miles for the EV3X. For the latter, GMC offers a 24-module battery, boasting an extended range of up to 381 miles. However, selecting the Extreme Off-Road package trims this estimate down to 359 miles.

The Hummer EV has a five-foot-long bed and is shaped like a crew-cab pickup truck. Given the vehicle's pricing, the inside materials might use some work, but the cabin is not as roomy as that of a GMC Sierra 1500 crew cab. Nevertheless, a feature that is optional lets the interior be opened up to the weather via detachable roof panels, giving the car a T-top appearance reminiscent of classic GM sports and muscle cars from the 1970s and 1980s.
