Ford has announced an exciting surprise for owners of its current Mustang lineup. Through over-the-air updates, the company is introducing a fresh custom gauge option for the digital instrument cluster, echoing the iconic style of the 1965 gauges. This retro-inspired cluster pays homage to the Mustang's heritage and is available at no cost. The reveal of this feature was showcased in a video shared by Ford Product.

Iconic 1965-Style Gauges Meet Current Mustang Lineup

This treat comes in time for Ford's 60th Anniversary. In a video shared by Ford Product Communications Director Mike Levine, the cluster was showcased, serving as the focal point for Ford's primary tribute to this significant milestone in Mustang history.

As reported by The Drive, upon entering the cockpit, Levine activates the Mustang's dashboard, unveiling a digital gauge cluster reminiscent of the iconic 1965 style. This design enhancement is now available to all owners of seventh-generation Mustangs, as well as those who will join the Ford family in the future, courtesy of a complimentary over-the-air update introduced starting today.

According to Autoblog, the updated instrument panel boasts skeuomorphic graphics reminiscent of the original Mustang design, complete with dual circular speedometer and tachometer displays adorned with chrome rings and red needles.

While the retro aesthetic is primarily reserved for the speedometer and tachometer, the coolant temperature, center information section, and fuel gauge maintain a more contemporary design. However, they will share the same color scheme as the retro graphics to ensure cohesion across the panel.

The report also shared Ford has now unveiled its second retro gauge cluster for the current-generation Mustang, following the initial release inspired by the late-model Fox Body Mustangs, complete with the signature pale green hue for illumination.

This latest update comes at no cost to all owners of the current-generation Mustang, irrespective of powertrain or trim level, and can be seamlessly added wirelessly starting today.

Ford Newest Mustang Experience Center

According to Motor1.com, the introduction of the Mustang Experience Center coincides with the celebration of the Ford Mustang's 60th anniversary. Ford plans to open this center in 2025. The center, which is ideally located next to the Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina, provides new Mustang owners with an exclusive chance to experience the track and learn firsthand about the performance possibilities of the car.

Motor1.com also reported the Mustang Experience Center transcends being merely a showroom adjacent to a race track. Beyond its primary functions, the facility will house a retail store offering an array of Mustang merchandise and an aftermarket parts shop catering to enthusiasts seeking performance upgrades. Furthermore, it will serve as the proud home of the Ford Heritage Gallery, providing a comprehensive journey through 60 years of Mustang history.

Amidst these offerings, ample space will be dedicated to hosting special events, with Ford notably mentioning the possibility of weddings. While we could indulge in a jest about Mustangs and large crowds, we'll abstain and instead highlight the potential for this venue to serve as an ideal setting for future Mustang debuts.
